We were short on time today but still wanted to get outside to enjoy the beautiful spring day. We opted for this short walk through a nature preserve and we were pleasantly surprised.
Vincent DiFilippo Nature Preserve
Length: 2 Miles
Time: ~45 Minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Description: This "hike" is a heavily trafficked loop trail along the bank of the Conodoguinet Creek and is good for all skill levels and ages.
Fun Fact: The land on which the nature preserve has been established was formerly the Silver Springs Golf Course.

Details: The Vincent DiFilippo Nature Preserve is nestled along the Conodoguinet Creek right off Sample Bridge Road in Silver Springs Township. This two mile stone path has an abundance of wildlife (we saw deer and many species of birds) and is just a pleasant spot for a relaxing stroll. The path is completely flat with just a few wet spots that are easily avoided. The surprising part for us was the nesting bald eagle pair that recently welcomed two little ones into their nest. Take binoculars if you want to catch a view as the trail gives the eagles about 100 yards of personal space. There are also several picnic tables along the path where you could sit and watch the creek flow by or enjoy a little lunch. While this is not really a hike, we really think you'll enjoy this low-key spot, so leave that daypack at home and get out for a relaxing walk in the park.
